Future Beat Alliance retrospective announced

A triple-vinyl retrospective of UK producer Matthew Puffett’s Future Beat Alliance project is on the way.

FBA21: Collected Works 1996-2017 is a career-spanning survey of an artist whose soulful, futuristic style of techno and electro has made him an underground favorite for years. The compilation, to be made available on vinyl and digital formats, includes some unheard material—new cut “Chemical Cloud,” “Something To Hold” from 2004 and the digital-only “Beginner,” which dates to 1996—and tracks Puffett has put out through labels like Void, Delsin, Rush Hour and Tresor. It’ll be released on his own FBA Recordings imprint in November, with “Chemical Cloud” to be made available before then.

News of the triple-vinyl set follows the recent release of Physical Systems, an EP of tunes Puffett recorded back in 1998, and a reissue of his 1996 debut EP, Mode 2, which both came out on FBA Recordings. Last year, his 1997 debut album, Hidden Emotion, was given its first full vinyl issue on Subwax Excursions. The past three years have also seen him heavily involved in the creation of the new UNKLE album, The Road: Part I, which came out a couple weeks ago.
