Lauren Lo Sung – Worthless EP [Rutilance Recordings]

Coming off the back of a consistent and exciting year, Lauren Lo Sung announces the release of her strongest EP yet on the renowned French vinyl only label Rutilance Recordings.

Becoming as respected for her releases as she is for her DJing has been a goal of Lauren’s since taking up production only a few years ago. Then when Mixmag named her recent ‘Tresor’ EP in their Top 40 releases of 2017 this goal was becoming more of a reality for Lauren. ‘Tresor’ was released on Rutilance founder DJ Steaw’s off shoot label House Puff and from then their relationship grew and grew with a release on the main label becoming the natural next step.

The four track EP perfectly encapsulates Lauren’s sultry, groove laden house, a sound she is becoming continually respected for.

Opener ‘Worthless’ allowed experimentation with her Korg Minilogue synth for the first time in her productions, delivering a track full of sumptuous space, with heavy driving grooves.

‘All Fuzzy’ described by Lauren as one of her favourite tracks she’s ever produced, teases cryptic vocals throughout taking the mood back a step, perfect for opening her sets.

The flip sees the old school hip hop influenced ‘Five Tribe’ as well as a remix from label co-owner Gunnter taking ‘Worthless’ into a more minimal laden place with his elegant rework.
